Privacy Policy
Plan My Day is a daily planner made by Budgex ("we", "us"). This policy explains what data the app and this website handle, why, and what you can do about it. If anything is unclear, write to info@planmyday.my.
- You don't need an account. Your plans, reviews and history are stored on your phone.
- Cloud backup is optional and part of Premium. It is the only time you sign in and the only time your plans leave your device.
- The app shows ads from Google AdMob. Ads never see what you write in your plans. You can choose non-personalised ads at any time.
- We don't sell your personal data. We collect anonymous usage events and crash reports to improve the app; these never include what you write in your plans.
Data stored on your device
Everything you create in the app stays in a database on your device: time blocks and their titles, notes, categories, timer records, end-of-day reviews, tray tasks, history and settings. Reminders are scheduled by your device's own notification system. Work-log exports (CSV or PDF) are created on your device and go only where you choose to share them.
We can't see this data. Uninstalling the app or clearing its data removes it, unless you have a cloud backup.
Optional cloud backup
If you turn on backup (Premium), the app asks you to sign in with Google or Apple. We use Firebase Authentication, a Google service, for sign-in. We receive a user ID, your email address and, if your provider shares it, your name. If you use Sign in with Apple and choose to hide your email, we receive Apple's relay address instead.
The backup is a single file containing your plans, history, categories and app settings. It is stored in Firebase Cloud Storage, encrypted in transit and at rest, and only your signed-in account can read it. Each new backup replaces the previous one.
You can delete the backup at any time in Settings → Backup → Delete backup. Signing out stops further backups. To delete your sign-in account and backup together, see Deleting your data.
Usage analytics
We use Google Analytics for Firebase to understand how the app is used. We record a small set of events:
- finishing onboarding, and the evening reminder time you picked
- confirming tomorrow's plan, with the number of blocks
- finishing a daily review, with the number of blocks and how long it took
- buying or changing a Premium plan, with the plan length
- exporting the work log, with the file format
These events never include block titles, notes or anything else you write. Firebase also collects standard technical data such as device model, operating system, app version, approximate region and an app-instance identifier. On Android, Firebase may read the device's advertising ID. We don't use these events to choose which ads you see.
Advertising
Plan My Day shows ads served by Google AdMob, a Google service. Ads help keep the app's core features free.
What AdMob receives: your device's advertising identifier (the Android advertising ID, or Apple's IDFA on iOS if you allow tracking), your IP address and approximate location derived from it, device and app details (model, operating system, language, app version), and how you interact with ads (views and taps). AdMob never receives your block titles, notes, reviews, history or anything else you write in the app.
What it's used for: showing ads, limiting how often you see the same ad, measuring how ads perform, and preventing fraud and abuse. With your consent, AdMob may also use this data to show ads based on your interests (personalised ads). Without consent, you see non-personalised ads, chosen from general information such as the app and your approximate location.
Your choices:
- European Economic Area, United Kingdom and Switzerland: before any ad is shown, the app asks for your consent through Google's consent message. You can accept, decline or choose purposes. You can change your choice at any time in Settings → Privacy choices.
- iPhone and iPad: the app asks whether it may track you across other companies' apps and websites (App Tracking Transparency). If you say no, the IDFA isn't shared and ads aren't personalised using it. You can change this in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.
- Android: you can reset or delete your advertising ID in your device settings (on most phones Settings → Google → All services → Ads, or Settings → Privacy → Ads). Once it is deleted, apps can't use it for ads.
- United States: showing personalised ads may count as "sharing" personal data under some state privacy laws, such as California's. You can opt out in Settings → Privacy choices or by writing to us; you will then see only non-personalised ads.
Learn how Google uses data from apps that show its ads at How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services, and manage your Google ad settings at adssettings.google.com.
Crash reports
We use Firebase Crashlytics, a Google service, to find and fix crashes on Android, iOS and macOS. A crash report contains technical details such as the error, the code location, device model, operating system and app version. It does not include your plans.
Purchases
Premium subscriptions are sold through the Apple App Store or Google Play. Apple or Google processes your payment; we never see your card or billing details. The app receives only what it needs to unlock Premium, such as which plan is active.
This website
planmyday.my is hosted on Firebase Hosting. Like any web server, Google receives your IP address and browser details to deliver the pages and protect against abuse. The site does not use advertising or analytics cookies.
Launch waitlist
If you join the waitlist on this website, we collect your email address and nothing else. The list is run by Brevo. You first get an email asking you to confirm, and you are added only after you confirm. We then use your address only to tell you when Plan My Day launches. Every email has an unsubscribe link, or you can write to info@planmyday.my to be removed. We keep your address until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it, and we don't share it with anyone else.
Service providers
We share data only with the providers that run the features described above:
| Provider | Used for |
|---|---|
| Google (Firebase Authentication, Cloud Storage, Analytics, Crashlytics, Hosting) | Sign-in and backup, usage analytics, crash reports, website hosting |
| Google AdMob and its ad partners | Showing and measuring ads, consent messages, fraud prevention |
| Apple (Sign in with Apple, App Store) | Sign-in, purchases |
| Google Play | Purchases |
| Brevo (Sendinblue SAS, France) | Launch waitlist emails |
Their own privacy policies apply to how they process data: Google, Apple and Brevo. These providers may process data in countries other than yours.
How long we keep data
- On your device: until you delete it or uninstall the app.
- Cloud backup and sign-in account: until you delete them or ask us to.
- Analytics: for the retention period set in Google Analytics, after which Google deletes it.
- Crash reports: about 90 days, under Crashlytics' standard retention.
- Waitlist email: until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it.
- Advertising data: AdMob keeps it under Google's retention policies; we don't keep a copy.
Deleting your data
- Plans on your device: delete them in the app, or uninstall the app.
- Cloud backup: Settings → Backup → Delete backup.
- Account and backup: in the app, go to Settings → Backup → Delete account. You sign in once more to confirm, then your cloud backup and sign-in account are deleted straight away. This works with or without Premium. The plans on your device stay.
- Without the app: email info@planmyday.my from the address you signed in with, or include it in your message. We delete the account and any backup within 30 days and confirm by email.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or move your personal data, and to object to or limit how it's used. Most of your data never leaves your device, so you control it directly. You can withdraw ad consent or opt out of personalised ads at any time, as described in Advertising. For anything we hold, write to info@planmyday.my and we'll respond within 30 days. You may also complain to your local data protection authority.
Children
Plan My Day is not directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect personal data from them. Ads in the app are not aimed at children. If you believe a child has given us personal data, contact us and we'll delete it.
Security
Data sent between the app and our providers is encrypted. Backups are protected by access rules so that each account can reach only its own file. No system is perfectly secure, so we keep what we collect to a minimum.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top. If a change affects what data we collect or how we use it, we'll also tell you in the app or on this website before it takes effect.
